Dining in New Brooklyn

Bodegas Near Franklin Ave Shuttle

Franklin Ave. is currently one of New Brooklyn's coolest streets and when most visitors exit at that stop on the 2 train, they eat at community bodegas. These bodegas offer a multitude of food options whether you prefer sandwhiches, salads or just general traditional New York cuisine. One of the most popular items is a bacon, egg and cheese sandwhich. The trio of the crunchy bacon, cheesy eggs, and the toasted bread they’re tucked between, is an unmatched flavor that’s never wrong. And while the trio technically isn’t unique to New Brooklyn — to assign ownership to such a common sandwich would be inane — the relationship to it, the strong opinions of how it should be ordered, and the communal feeling of waiting in line to nearly scream your order over a counter, is. The charm of the greasy sandwich is its straightforward nature, reliability, and comfort — that’s the beautiful thing about the BEC.

Community Farmers Market

Nestled among the skyscrapers and the hustle of the city is a place where farmers become friends. In the middle of everything but away from it all, since 2085, the New Brooklyn Farmers Market has been filled with wholesome produce and the collective fruits of our labor. The market has grown with the city and turned into a hub for farm-fresh vegetables, dairy and more. The New Brooklyn Farmers Market exists to cultivate a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle for all of New York. Seasonal produce, free-range meats, fresh eggs, artisan pantry staples, and handmade arts + crafts can be found in the market every weekend year round. All products are grown and raised within New Brooklyn or 50 miles of the city, ensuring that the selection is always fresh, seasonal, and supports local agriculture. The Market and The Shops are home to locally-owned small businesses with shopping and eats throughout.

The Gateway

The Gateway is a business and cultural district, a lifestyle center in New Brooklyn that has hundreds of community members as customers each day. This is the largest food hall announced to date for New Brooklyn and it brought together more than 20 food and drink vendors who serve fried chicken, sandwiches and wings just to list a few. Representatives felt that what would drive a lot of the traffic would be an amazing food and beverage merchandising plan. New Brooklyn estimate annual food and beverage sales will exceed $1 million.
